Biography


 

 

Jonathan-Jefferson BRIDOUX studied the piano in academy (Pierre Liémans and Stéphane Ginsburgh), and received in 1995 an award from the Academy Friends Committee of Quaregnon. In 1999, he obtains the 4th prize at the Andrée Charlier Piano Competition and started higher musical studies in the Mons Royal Conservatory. He did a specialization in music theory and studied analysis, harmony, piano (Johan Schmidt, †Yuko Nomura and Yuka Itzutsu) and piano accompaniment (Catherine Van Loo). He is still studying organ with Xavier Deprez (organist of Cathedral of Saints Michael & Gudule and church of Finistère in Brussels), chamber music with Guy Van Waas (principal conducer of Les Agrémens and organist of the église des Carmes in Brussels) and singing with Mezzo Laurence Frère. He also attended master classes with Peter Tomek (assistant conductor & pianist of La Monnaie), Jean-Pierre Bacq (pianoforte solist), Jean-Pierre Leguay (organist of Cathedral Notre-Dame de Paris) and Joris Verdin (harmonium solist).

 

Jonathan-Jefferson BRIDOUX is Organist of the Merklin-Schütze organ (1870) in the église St-Martin in Thulin, BELGIUM, since 1998 and of the Link Frères organ (1893) of église St-Charles in Boussu, BELGIUM, since 2001.

Jonathan-Jefferson BRIDOUX is a fairly open minded musician and also plays others keyboards like harpsichord, pianoforte, harmonium, Rhodes and synthesizers, and performs numerous concerts in Belgium, involved in chamber music, orchestras, pop and rock bands. He also composes, arranges music and creates scores for various instruments and vocals combinations.

Since 2005, Jonathan-Jefferson is the official keyboardist of Alucard, a romantic rock band who combines classical music and rock. The band has recorded a single and their first album with Maestro Producer John Fryer (Depeche Mode producer) at prestigious ICP Studios in Brussels, and SOUND DIVISION Studios in Riga, Latvia.

In 2008, he created the chamber music ensembles SURSUM CHORDA (sacred music featuring voices, strings, harmonium and harp) and ICH TU’S (violin & organ duet).

Jonathan-Jefferson BRIDOUX taught the piano at the SHAPE (NATO strategic military commands) Youth Center in 2003, and in 2007 returned to his childhood catholic college as a professor of music.
